been awhile since last update

I just realized I have not updated since April... so I will do a big update on my life
kids- Alisha graduated from preschool. Jacob finished with the 1st grade. They both played soccer this spring. Alisha loved it. Alisha had her kindergarten tests done. She can't wait to start school. She will be going all day everyday.. Jacob loves to read. He is always reading his books.. He is reading at almost a 4th grade level.. Just need to work on his writing.LOL
pregnancy- things are going ok. I am 31 weeks today. I am just now feeling pregnant. blood pressure and gestational diabetes is going really well. hardly any swelling and still about 4 pounds under my prepregnancy weight. Having twice weekly testing done and monthly ultrasounds. Just last week, they found out one of his kidneys is enlarged. I will find out next week if it is normal now or still enlarged... here is my current belly pic:



still have nothing for the baby yet. I have my shower on 7/14... I have my car seat and pack and play picked out. My best friend is giving me her crib so just waiting until I paint the walls in the bedroom before having the crib moved here. hoping to have it all finished by the end of the month :)
hobbies- still reading alot. scrapbooking every month. just recently in the past week, started cross stitching again. As soon as I finish my current piece, I will be starting a baby afghan. I am crazy to start it so late but will try to get it half finished before he arrives.It will be my soccer and hospital project....
The month of May and June went by really quickly. I was so busy with camps, end of school, and soccer. I am just now slowing down a bit. It is just in time for school shopping in a few weeks and awaiting on our new addition.
I promise to update more often. I just need a reminder sometimes :)

It's a boy..

I had my big ultrasound this morning.
Now, I need to come up with some boys names. I think boys name are so much harder than girls... This will make my 2nd boy with a girl as the middle child. Oh no. help me there!!!
now comes the fun part of doing a clean sweep with both kids rooms and redoing the big bedroom for the boys!

16 week belly and doctors appointment

Just a normal, quick visit. With this being my 3rd pregnancy, I really don't have any concerns. My new doc copied my gestastional diabetes booklet. My blood pressure is already getting a little higher each visit. NOT GOOD! told me to make sure to exercise for 20 minutes a day. I can barely get off the couch let alone exercise for 20 minutes.LOL heard the babys heartbeat. around 158-160. about right for my kids! I have to wait until April 16th for my big u/s... That stinks. They shedule my u/s and my next visit at the same time. I see another doctor in the office.overall a good appointment. I had yet another blood test for my thyroid and while they were already drawing my blood, I had them do the quad test.The countdown until the u/s has started!!!!

Now that I am in the 2nd trimester, I am feeling great. I still need to take atleast 1 nap a day for around 2 hours.
This new diet stinks. I eat correctly with the right amount of carbs and such and my numbers are good. I cheat with regular soda, cookies, and such and my numbers are almost identical to the numbers eating right. It makes no sense!!!!!!! I see the diabetic nurse again on Wednesday so hopefully she has some answers for me.
I felt the baby move for the first time this weekend. The baby moved once on Saturday and a couple of times last night. I can't wait to start feeling it alot more. I was curious yesterday and measured my waist. I have already added around 4-5 inches just on my waist. I look around 6 months pregnant.LOL
I will try to post a belly pic sometime this week!
I am finally stitching again. I lost my "mojo" for it a couple of weeks ago.
I stitched last night and finished a baby quilt square. I am going to start and finish my stitch it forward for the cross stitch crazy board.
I am hoping all of these small projects will make me motivated again to pick up the Disney castle!

update from last Thursday and Misc. stuff

as most of you know, Thursday was a really trying day for me.
As soon as I get to my dr.'s appointment, I am told I failed my 3 hour gd test and I have gestational diabetes. Then the nurse tried to find the heartbeat. tried for about 5-10 minutes. She said well, let's see if your NP can find it. So after getting my physical :( my NP tries to get the heartbeat. She tried for about 10 minutes and couldn't find it. So she goes and gets my dr. She also tries for 5-10 minutes. She said it might be hiding or low so she offers to do an ultrasound.
fast forward to Friday, I go and get my ultrasound. The baby is there and moving all around. I see the heartbeat a fluttering away. If I had a full bladder, My pics would of turned out much better. I am not posting a blurry pic.LOL
So I see a diabetic counsellor on Thursday. The hospital calls today to say my insurance will not cover my appointment. I guess they don't care I have gestastional diabetes. So tomorrow, I am making a call to the insurance to dispute their decision. It would be best for them to cover it because if something happens to me or the baby, they will be paying alot more in hospital and doctor bills in the future.
If they decide not to cover it, then we are going to pay out of pocket. It isn't a big deal about $179 . But pregnancy is supposed to be covered 100% including all hospital, meds, testing, etc. I just pay my $15 co pay at the first visit. They sure are going to love me by the time this is over.LOL
I had a great pampered chef party last night. If you want to order anything off of me, I will ship it to you. just email me and we will talk :)
On Saturday, I went to a big Creative Memories scrapbook convention. There were 1000 ladies scrapbooking for 13 hours! It was alot of fun. The best part was taking a nap in the lobby on a nice comfy couch.LOL

get to hear the heartbeat tomorrow

I get to visit the OB tomorrow. I am so excited. I will be 12 wk 1 day. I will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I can't wait. I am nervous though. I have not had an ultrasound yet so it is scary. I also get to have the dreaded annual exam and such. I hate this part of being a woman.LOL
I am finally eating and having cravings. I have been craving a real strawberry milkshake. I don't want a fast food one. I want one that uses real milk to make them. I am making a trip to UDF tomorrow morning before my appointment.LOL still really tired, but slowly starting to feel like my normal self..
I am going maternity clothes shopping Friday with my mom. She is buying me some clothes. If I wasn't a church goer, I wouldn't need so many clothes. It is sad when I wear one of my "big" nice shirts to church tonight and it is so tight in the belly. I will get brave and maybe post a belly pic in the next week.
I am so tired of the cold and snow. The kids had another snow day today. We had freezing fog. It was so bad you could barely drive and visibility was really bad. It was supposed to go away but it was so foggy all day long. I had to drive slow coming home from church tonight.
so there is my update. I will update tomorrow evening after my appointment tomorrow!

been MIA

This pregnancy has really got to me. I have been constantly sick. When I am not feeling nauseated, I am sleeping. I have been sleeping about 18 hours.
I have alot of things going on at home right now. I just don't have the motivation to sit at the computer. I would rather be in bed.. hopefully, I will start feeling alot better in the next 2 weeks.
I failed my 1 hour glucose test last week. This next Monday, I have to take the dreaded 3 hour test... I was borderline with my last pregnancy. All I had to do last time was watch my diet and have my blood tested each week. I am praying I don't have GD already. I don't know how I am going to make it doing it for 29 more weeks. YUCK!!!!!!!! Last time, I only had to do it for 10 weeks and it sucked!!!!
I haven't been stitching at all. I haven't even opened my stitching bag for 3 weeks. hopefully, soon I can have the motivation to stitch again.
